To support the growth of Alberta’s digital economy, recruiting talent is essential. Come join ICTC’s Sashie Steenstra and Mansharn Toor, who will share insights on in-demand jobs, sectors driving the digital economy, and actionable job search tips for newcomers and internationally educated professionals interested in learning more about Alberta's thriving tech sector.

Mansharn Toor Bio: Mansharn Toor (she/her) is a Research and Policy Analyst at ICTC. Mansharn brings her background in political science and social justice into her research on the impact of emerging technologies, labour market trends, and tech-equity. Mansharn previously worked with various Indigenous communities in Alberta to develop community strategic plans based on community-led research and evidenced-based decision making. She has a particular passion for the intersections of technology and policy to help address social inequities.

Sashie Steenstra Bio: With over 20 years’ experience in post-secondary and non-profit settings, Sashie’s career has focused on workforce development, experiential learning, curriculum design, workshop facilitation, business development and project management. She joined ICTC (Information and Communications Technology Council) in 2019 and applied a full spectrum of career transition guidance to the highly successful pilot EDGE UP (Energy to Digital Growth Education and Upskilling Project), a short-duration skills development program that helped pivot displaced mid-career professionals from the Oil and Gas industry into Calgary’s growing tech sector. In her current role as Manager, iAdvance, Sashie spearheads the strategic growth of iAdvance programming. She leads planning, development, coordination, and implementation of program delivery.
